I'm looking for someone

I’m looking for someone, maybe you know them or maybe it’s you.

They’re a pretty fantastic human, there’s no doubt about that.

They believe in something greater than just their humanness. Some call it spirit or energy or god. No matter what language they use to describe this essence, it’s really important to and for them.

For a period of time, they’ve been immersing themselves in connecting with this unseen force.

They’ve studied with teachers, leaders, Gurus.

They may have even mediated in a cave or ashram or at the feet of a three-story-tall stone statue.

They practice ceremony and ritual. And there are altars in their bathroom and rose quartz in their pockets.

They have all the things.

Crystals, plant medicines, books of wisdom, oracle decks, tarot, pendulums, statues of Buddha or Kuan Yin or Ganesh or Kali or Mary Magdalene.

They are devoted to their practices - a collection of many different elements, from many different teachers and many different places.

Ultimately, they are a seeker. A curious human who appreciates the value of community.

And, yet, they are struggling. Something in their spiritual practice isn’t working or feeling the way that it used to, the way that they want and need.

Maybe a teacher they love and respect said or shared something which felt wrong or hurtful, and now they feel confused, disappointed, even betrayed.

Perhaps they were told their spiritual practice is cultural appropriation, or maybe they came to that understanding on their own.

Maybe they want to make sure that they are practicing integrity in their devotional practice, but aren’t sure how to do that.

Whatever the reason they find themselves disappointed, confused, unsettled, ungrounded, and at a loss about where to go next.

They need their devotional practice to really feel like themselves. Just not the way it is right now.
